So, have you heard about Stitch Fix?
Stitch Fix, a San Francisco based company founded in 2011, is an on-line subscription and personal shopping service.
For those of us who are too busy to spend hours at the mall, trying things on and trying to remember what’s already in our closets, personal shoppers are a terrific idea. It’s like having your own clothes fairy.
How it works
You fill out a profile, create a Pinterest board, pin clothes you love, schedule a “Fix” and your clothes fairy (or stylist) picks out 5 items she thinks you will love. The items show up on your doorstep on the scheduled date, you have 3 days to try everything on in the privacy of your own home, with all your own accessories. You can stand in front of your closet and see what you’ve already got that will mix and match with the Stitch Fix items, no more trying to recall what you’ve got. Keep what you like and send the rest back in the provided paid shipping envelope.
The styling fee is $20, which is applied to the cost of the items you keep. If you send it all back, you’ve paid $20, if you keep it all you’ll get a 25% discount on the total cost.
If you refer a friend using your referral code, you get $25 in Stitch Fix credit added to your account. It would be great if you used my referral code here: Stitch Fix Referral Code
My June Fix
I was super excited to receive this Fix as I hadn’t scheduled one in some time and I wanted some fun items for Summer. I wasn’t too specific in my note to my stylist (Leah) except that I was looking for some white crop pants. Sadly, Leah let me know she hadn’t found any that she thought I’d love But she is “keeping an eye out” for them. Gotta’ love your clothes fairy!

In this fix I received: Dolce Vita, Della, Open Toed Leopard D’Orsay Flats; Fun2Fun, Morales, Crew Neck Top; Lysse, Joylyn, Ponte Leggings (in brown); Skies are Blue, Wexford, Embroidered Detail Knit Top (in Coral) and Blank NYC, Lettie, Faux Leather and Knit Drape Jacket.
First outfit – I tackled 4 out of the 5 pieces in this Fix

The Dolce Vita shoes were cute, but a bit too big – sent back

The Lysse leggings were flattering, comfy and good quality, but I already have brown leggings in my closet so – sent back
The Blank NYC drape jacket, was super comfortable, soft and warm. It would have been great on a larger person. I’m fairly small framed (5’3″) and I felt like there was just too much fabric for me – sent back

The Fun2Fun crew neck blouse, I really wanted to love it, it was soft, comfortable, airy, but looking at the photos, I see it does not look great on me. There’s one photo I’m not posting, where I’ve turned to the side and the shirt falls straight down making my tummy look like it sticks out as far as the girls do. – sent back

I really liked the Skies are Blue top in coral (more red really). Loved the embroidery details, the split neck line, the airy fabric and it fit perfectly. However, it was a bit pricey and I couldn’t justify the cost – sent back.
So there you have it, my June Stitch Fix. I didn’t keep any of the items though they were all great items, just not great for me. I’m hopeful of my next fix.
